(CNN) – Elon Musk’s pro-Trump Super PAC awarded its final $1 million prize to a registered voter in Michigan.

It ends daily drawings, which attracted legal scrutiny at both the federal and state levels.

The political group, called America PAC, announced its final winner on Tuesday, a day after a Pennsylvania judge refused to cancel the drawing.

The Philadelphia district attorney had filed a civil suit to stop the drawing, claiming it violated state gambling laws.

The super PAC set up a right-wing petition that registered voters could sign to be eligible for the drawing.

The pro-Trump group awarded $18 million to 18 registered voters in battleground states.

The Justice Department had warned that the program could violate federal vote-buying laws.

An attorney for America PAC said the winners were not chosen at random but were hand-selected based on their personal stories. They also signed a contract to be a spokesperson for the organization.
