The man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article in public and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

Police also arrested the suspect for possession of Class A and Class B drugs.

Inspector Andy Wright said: “While the victim in this case fortunately did not suffer any serious injuries after being attacked, I have no doubt that this will have been an incredibly distressing experience for him.

“After being attacked and allegedly threatened with a knife, the man was forced to hand over a valuable coat he was wearing at the time.

“Unfortunately we have not yet located this jacket so we are asking anyone who knows where it might be to report it to the police.”
