Missing upstate man may be helping with Helene’s recovery, agents say

CHESNEE, SC (FOX Carolina) – The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help locating a missing man.

Deputies said Dillon Taylor Dehart, 31, was last seen Oct. 28 on Chesnee Highway near Fredrick Memorial Gardens.

Investigators said they obtained doorbell camera footage of him wearing the clothing shown in the included photos.

Deputies said someone picked him up walking near I-26 and took him to the Lake Lure area in Rutherford County, North Carolina. They believe he may still be in western North Carolina helping with recovery efforts after Hurricane Helene.

No foul play is suspected at this time, but deputies want to confirm Dehart’s well-being.

Anyone with information is asked to call 1-888-CRIME-SC.
