HEBER CITY – A head-on collision Tuesday morning closed US 40 just north of Daniels Pass between Heber City and Strawberry Reservoir.

The collision at the top of Daniels Canyon involved two vehicles and resulted in five patients being transported to local hospitals, one of whom is in critical condition, according to Corporal Jared Heywood of the Utah Highway Patrol.

Snow can be seen on area roads, making conditions slippery and dangerous. Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
