Goldendoodle ‘terrified’ of spiders hides in funniest place

A hilarious video captured the moment a goldendoodle named Bubba ran and hid from an unexpected threat.

the clippublished in tiktok owner Anthony Scarmazzi of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, showed the moment the three-year-old dog hid in the shower after encountering one of his most feared enemies: an eight-legged one.

With 2.5 million views and counting, the footage showed Bubba’s deeply concerned, wide-eyed face peeking out from inside the shower after spotting a spider in the house. The overlay text explained: “Bubba was terrified of spiders. He would hide here whenever he saw one in the house,” as the dog watched warily, clearly not ready to face his fear.

Scarmazzi said news week that Bubba is really just “a big baby” and said his dog had been that way for as long as he could remember.

“He’s basically afraid of everything,” Scarmazzi said. “I’ve been laughing watching his reactions for the past three years and thought the internet would enjoy his personality.”

The internet did not disappoint, as users flooded the comments with reactions to Bubba’s fear and shared their own pet phobias.

“I would hide there with him,” LauraNicoleXx laughed. “We would need someone to rescue us.”

Urthighness said: “Mine was afraid of flies! She would sit under the table or clothesline to hide.”

Loria.A08 said: “Arachnophobic puppy, me too, Bubba.”

However, not all pets seem to worry about spiders. Fellow dog owner Kazza21 shared the comments: “My little dog catches spiders and brings them to me. Now I have to do spider patrol every night.”

This isn’t the first time dog phobia has received viral attention. Last year, golden retriever Xena became an online hit when conquered his greatest fear—Walking across a bridge in his hometown.

While another golden retriever, Banks, went viral when her owner shared quite a long list of things that scare him, including tarps, frogs, boxes, Halloween decorations, and even feather dusters.

Other pets have been responsible for scaring others, like Odin, the dog who went into “super stealth” mode to scare his brother.
