TEMPE, AZ (AZ Family) — A 14-year-old boy was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle in Tempe Tuesday morning.

Tempe police responded to the crash around 8 a.m. near Kyrene and Baseline roads.

The teen was found with serious injuries and taken to the hospital, police said.

Tempe police said the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Traffic will be restricted for an extended time due to road closures with no estimated reopening date.
