Former Central Pa. native, brother of Penn State’s all-time leading scorer, signs with New York Knicks

Boo Buie’s NBA dreams continue.

The former Northwestern star, who went undrafted in this year’s NBA draft, will sign a two-way contract with the New York Knicks. ESPN’s Shams Charania reports.

Buie played high school basketball in the Harrisburg CYO league for St. Catherine Labore along Derry Street in Harrisburg, before moving to Albany, New York and eventually heading to Northwestern.

At Northwestern, Buie became the program’s all-time scorer in 2024 after five years in purple, and earned two first-team All-Big Ten honors while leading the Wildcats to back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Tournament.

Buie is also the half-brother of Penn State’s all-time leading scorer Talor Battle and the brother of former Penn State player Taran Buie. His Her sister Alexis also starred in Cedar Cliff.and currently plays in Shippensburg.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Buie originally signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Phoenix Suns this offseason, which could have landed him on the team’s G-League team, but he now joins the Suns’ organization. Knicks with a two-way contract. which will allow Buie to alternate between the G-League and the NBA throughout the year.
