Greenville Police Warn Against Scammers Impersonating Officers Over The Phone

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) – The Greenville Police Department is warning residents about scammers impersonating Greenville County deputies over the phone.

Officers report scammers are calling Greenville residents posing as officers and claiming to have active warrants against the recipient of the call.

Scammers demand money and may text a fake warrant with the address of 4 McGee Street while threatening arrest if the caller hangs up, police said.

Officers ask residents to hang up immediately if they receive a call from these scammers and block their number.

Anyone who has been affected or wishes to report a scam should call (864) 271-5333.
