Man identified in Muskingham boating accident

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ohio (WTAP) – The man involved in a boating accident earlier this month has been identified.

An ODNR case report identified David Lyle Lashley, 55, of Ohio, as the man who died.

The report shows that on October 20, at approximately 7:30 p.m., two men were returning to the ramp when the boat appeared to have struck an object in the water, causing the driver and passenger to be ejected.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ohio (WTAP) – Crews responded to a fatal boating accident in Ohio Sunday night.

This is what we know so far.

According to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, two people were ejected from the boat after it struck something in the water.

One of them returned to the boat and took the other person on board.

They then went to a private dock in the 500 block of River Road to get help.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office, ODNR Natural Resources officers, EMS and a Wildlife Officer responded to the scene.

According to ODNR, when crews arrived, one of the people was found unconscious. Emergency medical services performed CPR, but it was unsuccessful and they were pronounced dead at the scene.

The ODNR has not been able to pinpoint the exact location where the accident occurred and cannot confirm what the ship collided with.
