Two new community minibus services launch in east Hull

Two new community minibus services have been launched in east Hull.

Marfleet’s community minibus service takes people to shops and medical appointments, while a medibus service takes patients to Castle Hill Hospital.

East Hull Community Transport (EHCT) has been appointed to operate both services on a pilot basis until the end of March 2025.

Rob Foster, chief executive of EHCT, said the medibus “will provide an essential passenger transport service”.

The Marfleet service runs on a scheduled schedule and runs twice daily on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The medibus operates Monday to Friday, between 07:00 and 17:00 GMT and must be booked in advance by contacting EHCT.

Fares for both services start from £2.50.

The council said buses would only continue to run beyond next year if there was demand for the services, allowing for greater funding from the government’s Bus Service Improvement Plan.
