A man ‘trapped’ in a car seriously injured after crashing into the guardrails: police ask to find the driver

The 24-year-old passenger received trauma care from ambulance crews who rushed to the scene on Kingsbury Road in Erdington at 4.46am on Sunday (November 3).

An ambulance spokeswoman said: “On arrival, crews found a passenger, a man, trapped in the car in a serious condition.

“The ambulance crew worked quickly with their fellow firefighters to quickly get him out of the car while providing trauma care.

“The man’s condition was stabilized at the scene before he was taken by blue-light ambulance to Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further trauma care. “No other occupants were found at the location.”

on sunday, West Midlands Police issued an appeal urging two people who left the scene of the accident, believed to be the driver of the vehicle and a second passenger, approached.

The force said the collision occurred at the junction of Chester Road and Kingsbury Road and has urged witnesses, or those with dashcam footage or information, to get in touch.
