Ipswich 1-1 Leicester: Fan views

We asked him for his opinion after Saturday’s Premier League match between Ipswich and Leicester.

Here are some of their comments:

Ipswich fans:

Micro: Ipswich were brilliant: measured in the game, aggressive, forward-thinking, first with every ball. Unfortunately, the referee and VAR were against us again: second consecutive home game without a penalty. I’m sure PGMOL will apologize to us like last time. Unfortunately it does not return the points to us.

Jaime: This was a big improvement on recent performances, with Town producing plenty of heart, a firm defense and considerable threat going forward. We would have won the game nine out of 10 times. It is a farce that we are not talking about Leif Davis’ wonderful goal but, once again, about a poor refereeing performance.

Oli: Good performance from Ipswich but poor (again) from the referee and VAR. Almost all of Ipswich’s fouls went unnoticed, but they tried to book almost every player in Ipswich’s lineup. Philips has to be smarter when he has yellow. He turned the game around.

paula: It should have been a penalty for Chaplin (just in front of us). I have no idea why the VAR was not consulted. It should have been a free kick for Morsi just before the goal. I didn’t see the red card incident so I can’t comment on it. Ipswich were much better for the vast majority of the match.

Leicester fans:

Neil: Leicester got their way. Until the red card, Ipswich were the better team and Leicester were struggling to show any real quality going forward. After the red card, the game changed and Leicester could have won. A decent away point but not a great performance.

Simon: Again not good enough. We can’t count on getting an added point in time. We need to change the selection and style of our team. Cooper is out of his depth to compete at this level. The sooner the club sees it, the better.

Wayne: We are still trying to establish our best 11 or 14 since we returned to the Premier League. The post-Maresca chess system was always going to be difficult, and Cooper is doing everything he can to find that team. We need to move from midfield to quality scoring opportunities around and inside the area. The expulsion was fundamental.

Narcis: This was an important point for the Foxes in a relegation battle. Now on track to stay in the PL!
