Iran has indicated it plans to retaliate against Israel’s Oct. 26 attack using more powerful warheads and other weapons, including those not used in its two previous attacks.

a report of The Wall Street Journal quoted an Egyptian official as saying that Iran warned privately in Cairo of a “strong and complex” response to Israel’s airstrikes on its territory on Oct. 26, which were in retaliation for Tehran’s ballistic missile attack on Oct. 1. of October.

‘Iran’s response will be more aggressive’

An Iranian official, cited by the report, said Tehran could use Iraqi territory for part of the operation and would probably attack Israeli military facilities “but much more aggressively than the last time.”

The official also said the retaliation was necessary because the Iranian military lost four soldiers and one civilian in the Oct. 26 Israeli attack.

“Our army lost people, so they need to respond,” the Iranian official was quoted as saying. WSJ.

Iranian and Arab officials also said that Iran does not plan to limit its response to missiles and drones, as it did in the two previous attacks, and that any missile used would have more powerful warheads.

Iran said that in its Oct. 2 attack on Israel, it primarily fired four different types of medium-range ballistic missiles: one, Emad and Ghadr missiles, and two of Iran’s newest and most advanced, Kheibar Shekan and Fattah.

When Iran plans a retaliatory attack against Israel

Iran does not want to influence the 2024 US presidential election scheduled for November 5 with its attack, the WSJ The report quoted an Iranian official as saying.

The official also said Iran’s response would come after Tuesday’s vote but before a new president takes office in January.

The officials cited by WSJ He also hinted that Iran’s military may participate in future operations against Israel. However, this does not necessarily mean the deployment of troops, but could indicate that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps may not operate independently.

Meanwhile, a Fox News Digital report quoted Behnam Ben Taleblu, a senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, as saying: “Assessments by Iranian media and officials have shifted from trying to downplay the attack to using it to strut and threaten revenge. Make no mistake: Tehran still has the ability to respond. The Islamic Republic can still fire many more projectiles and heavier warheads than those used in its first two direct attacks against Israel. To climb without air defenses is to lead with the chin or to put the pieces of the puzzle in place to justify a move towards the development of atomic weapons.”
