Second half of the candidates for the Vienna City Council

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – In the race for a seat on the Vienna City Council there are nine candidates plus one candidate registered on the ballot. The second half of the candidates shown are Seth Colvin, Henry Sasyn, Carrie Rapp, Harry Deitzler and Kathy Boswell-Davis.

Seth Colvin believes he can be useful to the council because of his career in engineering project management and various construction projects. He feels his experience could be useful. He wants to see more participation and activities throughout the community.

“You know what to do in Vienna. There are not many activities for now. The city offers many different types of programs. You know, we recently had Glow on the O here. That was great, but there’s not much to do.” Colvin said.

Henry Sasyn has done business in 46 countries and 36 US states and feels he has good business acumen and understands how things work. He wants to see them all together instead of divided.

“Making sure people have representations to instill districts or districts. That way, everyone has to live in a certain area. They are responsible for that area. And in that way the city is equally represented by the people of certain areas or districts, compared to a select few and a consolidated location.” Sasyn said.

Carrie Rapp seeks to contribute to the community. She has experience working with seniors and providing health care to them, and believes her experience will have a positive impact on the community and seniors.

“To take back the village, so to speak, of embracing each other, making sure that whether it’s our children or our elders, everyone in between, we really rally around each other so that everyone feels supported, cared for. for everyone. has access to services.” Rap said.

Harry Deitzler was a prosecutor for years and has worked with all departments including the Board of Education, fire departments, police departments, commissioners and the cities of Parkersburg and Vienna.

“Handling the pension plans and the insurance and all that kind of stuff and keeping the streets paved and keeping the sewers running and the water running and having the Volunteer Fire Department take care of that and, on top of that, the recreation of Vienna. The pool, the fields. “There is a lot.”

Kathy Boswell-Davis has been working to ensure seamless healthcare for people for over 35 years and is committed to achieving community justice and sustainability for the city of Vienna. An important issue for her is to attract more families and companies and for this it is necessary to complete the infrastructure. He wants to work tirelessly with the citizens of Vienna to achieve an effective place for the community.

Each candidate was asked what issue was important to them. We have contacted all candidates.
