authorities investigating the accusations of sexual crimes involving russell brand have asked prosecutors to consider filing charges against the disgraced comedian.

As reported by the bbcBrand – a comedian and actor who starred in a number of Hollywood films such as bedtime stories and Forgetting Sarah Marshall — He has been interviewed three times by police since a documentary about his allegations was released in September 2023.

The documentary, which was a joint investigation by Sunday schedule, The times and channel 4 Dispatches noble Russell brand: in plain sightalleged that the comedian sexually assaulted several women between 2006 and 2013, including one victim who was 16 years old at the time.

Brand denied the allegations, saying they were “very, very hurtful.” He had also posted a video on YouTube before the documentary’s release, stating that “during that time of promiscuity, the relationships I had were absolutely and always consensual.”

On Saturday, the Metropolitan Police said it received complaints of sexual crimes by women after the publication of the documentary, the BBC reports.

“A man in his 40s had been questioned by officers under caution on three separate occasions,” police shared.

“A file of evidence has been passed to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) for consideration.”

The CPS has confirmed that it has been given a file of evidence and may therefore consider bringing charges against the 49-year-old.

In November 2023, BBC revealed that it received five complaints about Brand’s behavior when he hosted the network’s radio shows from 2006 to 2008.

Channel 4 issued an apology in March 2024 for “overlooking a complaint” made against the comedian when he worked for the channel in the 2000s.
