20-year-old arrested after two people killed in head-on crash in Marion County

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A 20-year-old man was arrested after a crash that left two people dead in Marion County on Saturday, November 2.

Kentucky State Police said the crash occurred around 6:20 p.m. on US 68, near the Jessietown Road intersection. An initial investigation showed that Erick Garcia, 20, of Lebanon, was heading west when his pickup truck crossed the eastbound lane and then left the roadway. Garcia turned into the eastbound lane and crashed head-on into a car.

The passenger in the eastbound car, Deborah Wright, 72, of Lebanon, died at the scene. The driver, Roy Wright, 75, of Lebanon, was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Garcia was arrested and charged with DUI Vehicular Homicide, Assault, DUI, Wanton Endangerment, Careless Driving and Failure to Present an Insurance Card. Garcia is expected to appear in court on Monday, November 4.
