EDGERTON, Minn. — The Pipestone County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a domestic assault incident in Edgerton in which a woman was killed and a man was taken into custody.

According to a news release from the Pipestone County Sheriff’s Office, dispatch received a call at approximately 11:56 a.m. Saturday reporting an assault at 800 First Ave. W., Edgerton. When officers arrived, a male subject was detained and a deceased female was located inside the residence.

The press release states that there was and is no danger to the public.

The Pipestone County Coroner, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the Buffalo Ridge Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force and the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office are assisting in the ongoing investigation.

The Rock County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota State Patrol assisted at the scene during the initial response.
