A man wanted to be returned to prison has been arrested in Nottinghamshire on suspicion of possessing sharp articles in public.

Police said the 35-year-old man was detained in bushland off Park Lane, near Selston, at around 12:30 GMT on Sunday after “numerous bladed items” were found.

Ch Insp Neil Humphris, of Nottinghamshire Police, said they were supported by colleagues from the fire and ambulance service in carrying out the arrest.

“We are pleased that we were able to remove multiple weapons out of harm’s way during this incident and also arrest a suspect, who was wanted after being called to jail,” he said.
