New York State Assemblyman Harvey Epstein said he was “totally surprised” by the “hilarious” Saturday Night Live parody. linking his name to infamous perverts Jeffrey Epstein and Harvey Weinstein.

Epstein, who represents East Side of Manhattan and it’s working for the City Council in District 2 next year, said he is a regular SNL viewer and was watching the show Saturday when his name came up in a skit about his campaign.

“It was a total surprise. Imagine if you were watching SNL and there was a skit about you,” he told The Post on Sunday morning.

Epstein, 57, said he didn’t learn about the sketch on the show.

People have joked about the similarities of his name to those of deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, and Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced Hollywood producer and convicted sex offender, said: “But not on national television!”

“Your name is your name. It is what it is. “Both of them (Jeffrey Epstein and Harvey Weinstein) are horrible,” he said.

“I’m clearly living a different life trying to do good in the world.”

But Epstein said he thought the skit was hilarious, even noting that actor John Mulaney wore earrings and had a clean-shaven head like him.

“John Mulaney was funny. It was a fun parody. “It was ironic and sarcastic – the parody hit all the right points,” he said.

In the mock campaign, the fake Epstein says: “Listen, my name is ideal, of course not. Do you think I don’t know?

Mulaney’s Harvey Epstein even pulls out mugshot posters of Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Epstein that say “NOT ME” and “DIFFERENT GUY,” respectively.

The Harvey Epstein mock emphasizes that he “loves his children, not in a creepy way.”

“I give you my word, like Epstein,” he says in the sketch.

The real Epstein said he hopes the national exposure will generate positive buzz about his council campaign.

“I hope people know that I am a great candidate for City Council. “It gives me some exposure for my career,” he said.
