This is the moment gangs of youths shot off fireworks at each other in front of terrified locals.

Dozens of young people dressed in dark clothing can be seen running down the street in Alpha Grove, on the Isle of Dogs, on Saturday with fireworks exploding just meters above them.

The young people were also seen carrying colorful balloons, which were apparently filled with nitrous oxide, known as laughing gas.

A fearful resident, who filmed the terrifying incident, was forced to close his window for fear of fireworks exploding inside his home.

Police officers and helicopters were reportedly sent to the scene.

“These kids have been doing this for the last two days,” said one resident, adding that some of these incidents occurred even in broad daylight.

Another terrified woman who was outside when the youths began shooting fireworks at each other said: “They almost got me.”
