Two women were injured after falling from a roller coaster

TANEY COUNTY, Missouri (KY3/Gray News) – Two women were injured after falling from a roller coaster, according to authorities.

Jim Ferguson of the Western Taney County Fire Protection District said firefighters were called to Shepherd of the Hills near Branson, Missouri, around 6 p.m.

Ferguson said two women suffered moderate injuries after falling from a car on the Copperhead roller coaster. The women were taken to the hospital.

The Missouri Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the incident.

According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, the women were in their 50s and fell from the car on a curve about six feet off the ground.

The trip is closed and will not be authorized until officials finish their investigation.

The Copperhead roller coaster is a 4,800-foot-long roller coaster, according to Shepherd of the Hills. website.
