A 19-year-old man was killed and six others injured in a terrifying overnight accident; An 18-year-old man was arrested for dangerous driving.

The collision, which took place in St Tudy, Cornwall, on Friday night, involved two cars at a junction.

The teenager was in the front seat of one of the cars and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Six other people were taken to hospital, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Devon and Cornwall Police say the 18-year-old suspect from Bodmin has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs.

He has been released on bail pending further investigations.
