LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) – The Lawton-Fort Sill Arts Council hosted its 13th Annual Hippie Holidays Crafts and Artisans Show on Saturday.

The event featured local artists, creators and creators of all kinds.

Among the vendors were cutlers, carpenters, cooks and others who put their personal touch on their products.

The organization’s president says the event is a great way to showcase Lawton-Fort Sill’s local talent.

“I think it’s very important that we continue to support local artists. Many of our artists do not have public storefronts,” shared Desirae Schnieder, president of the Lawton-Fort Sill Art Council. “Our motto is something like ‘Shop small, not the mall,’ and we love showcasing the talent we have in Lawton.”

For those who may be interested in next year’s event, Schneider says they will be calling vendors two months before the event, so stay tuned.
