Second gang member arrested after argument leads to woman’s shooting death: Grady Judd

Investigators arrested a second gang member several hours after a violent argument led to the shooting death of a woman, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

Joshua Clark, aka “Chop,” is now in custody, along with Jose Coronado, aka “Tweety,” who was arrested early Thursday.

At a news conference Thursday morning, Sheriff Grady Judd said Clark and Jose Coronado, who are members of rival gangs, met early Thursday on Levins Road near Mulberry.

According to Judd, the men got into an argument, during which Coronado grabbed a gun from his vehicle as Clark backed away. Coronado’s gun went off, hitting his 28-year-old girlfriend, Mary Dino, in the chest.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd says a woman died after her boyfriend accidentally shot her during a shootout with a rival gang member in the Mulberry area.

Coronado then shot Clark, leading to a shootout, Judd said.

The sheriff said Coronado then drove Dino to Ryals Road, where he placed her on the back door of a truck and told the people inside to take her to the hospital because he had a warrant and needed to leave. Dino later died.

Investigators located Coronado’s car about 20 miles away along US 17 north of Fort Meade, according to Judd, where the chase began. Officers performed a PIT maneuver and detained Coronado.

Clark was on the run for several more hours before he was captured, PCSO said. No further details about his arrest have been released.

Judd said both men are known methamphetamine dealers and are part of what he called a “crazy colony.” Coronado had a warrant for failure to appear in a methamphetamine trafficking case in Hillsborough County.

“I’m tired of hearing people say drugs are low-level and non-violent,” Judd said.
