Crime Fighters 6abc: A Montgomery County couple searches for their missing son, Amir Rashid, last seen in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A Montgomery County couple is asking the public for help after their son went missing in Philadelphia in late September.

Tariq and Rhonda Rashid search for their son, Amir.

The 28-year-old man reportedly left his home in the 1500 block of Page Street in North Philadelphia more than a month ago. He has not been seen since.

“He had an argument with his girlfriend. It seemed like it was infidelity on his part,” Tariq said.

Some of Amir’s movements were captured by Temple University cameras.

“It is our understanding that Temple’s last camera sighting is Dauphin Street approaching Broad Street around 12:41 a.m. on Monday, September 23,” Rhonda said.

Amir was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt, gray shorts and a black backpack.

His parents say he is a sociable person with a wide network of friends.

“He has many, many friends who were the first to sound the alarm,” Rhonda said. “What’s going on? We haven’t heard from him. This just isn’t happening.”

The Citizens Crime Commission is administering a $2,500 reward for information leading to Amir’s whereabouts.

All you have to do is call 215-546-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.

“We are encouraged by the love we have seen and shared and are grateful for it. And we know that people can be moved by sharing what they know,” Rhonda said.

His parents have a message for Amir.

“We can’t wait to see you because we love you. We miss you and we know you’ll be home any minute and we’re ready,” Tariq added.
