Saturday Night Live veteran Cecily Strong has announced that she is pregnant.

The Schmigadoon star, who is engaged to a man she only identified as Jack, shared two photos: a mirror selfie in which Cecily, 40, was wearing a T-shirt that read “pregnant, pro-choice and proud,” and a photo. of his belly.

Cecily shared that her Goober character didn’t come out of nowhere, but was based on her own story of having an abortion at age 23.

‘I had family and strangers come up to Goober and tell me about their own experiences, some of which they had never shared with anyone before. I have seen many women in these waiting rooms going through their own struggles and journeys with their reproductive health, family planning, and bodily autonomy.’

She noted that a variety of emotions run through each and every woman in those waiting rooms.

‘Some seem relieved. Some seem excited. Some seem fearful. Some seem to be carrying the deep sadness of previous losses and the even deeper hope of finally receiving good news.
