Jason Kelce Breaks Fan’s Phone After Brother Travis Was Called A Homophobic Slur

Jason Kelce smashed a Penn State football fan’s phone after the apparent caller called his brother, Travis Kelcea homophobic insult.

In now viral images shared on X (formerly Twitter) On Saturday, Nov. 2, the retired Philadelphia Eagles star, who was outside Beaver Stadium in State College, Pennsylvania, for the Penn State-Ohio State game, could be seen walking around as football fans surrounded him.

As the person filming the footage raised a fist toward Jason, 36, and yelled his name in a fist bump, another man nearby shouted the homophobic slur in the direction of the retired Philadelphia Eagles star.

“Hey, Kelce. How does it feel that your brother is dating someone?” Taylor Swift?” the man asked, using the slur to refer to Travis, who has been dating Swift, 34, since 2023.

Seconds later, Jason turned around, grabbed the phone out of the man’s hands, and slammed it onto the ground.

“It looked like a Penn State student was getting in Kelce’s face for no reason,” wrote the initial X user who posted the clip alongside him. “Wild scene in State College”.

Additional Images circulating through X showed a closer angle of Jason smashing the phone on the asphalt, before picking it up and walking away. The phone’s owner, who was wearing a Penn State hoodie at the time of the incident, could be seen in several clips walking closely and apparently recording Jason before the altercation occurred.

another scene shared on Xwhich was apparently filmed after Jason smashed the man’s phone, showed the hooded Penn State fan walking through a crowd to pick up his phone from the ground. “Give me my phone, bro,” he apparently told Jason.

The NFL alum, who grabbed the device first, then stood in front of the man and said, “Who’s the f–k now?” while other people seemed to intervene.

The incident took place while Jason was attending Beaver Stadium for an appearance on the ESPN show. college game day. The Ohio State Buckeyes ended up winning Saturday’s game, beating the Nittany Lions 20-13.

PEOPLE reached out to a representative for Jason and ESPN but did not immediately receive a response.
