When the bell rang, both competitors engaged in a classic lock-up, with Gunther showing off his strength and technical ability. The Austrian powerhouse took control with heavy punches, shoulder tackles and relentless grappling, but Rhodes repeatedly fought back, refusing to go down.

In the opening minutes, Gunther used his raw power, landing thunderous blows and concentrating on weakening Rhodes’ arms and back. Rhodes, showing his resilience, countered with strikes, a Disaster Kick and even a Cody Cutter that brought the fans to their feet. However, every time Rhodes gained momentum, Gunther found a way to regain control, eventually locking in a Boston Crab and then a Sleeper Hold, pushing Rhodes to his limits.

In a finishing sequence that kept the crowd on the edge of their seats, Rhodes attempted a super cutter, only for Gunther to counter once again with a Sleeper Hold. Rhodes, desperate and resilient, managed to break through the hold and caught Gunther off guard with a pin combination, securing the three count and the victory. With that, Cody Rhodes was crowned the first WWE men’s Crown Jewel Champion.

After the close fight, Gunther showed his respect for Rhodes, shaking his hand in a moment of sportsmanship. WWE executive Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Saudi dignitaries entered the ring to officially present the title to Rhodes, who held the belt high, chest beaten but in victorious spirit.
