(CNN)— A new song by late singer Liam Payne due to debut this week has been delayed.

Payne, former member of the popular boy band One Direction, died on October 16 after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was 31 years old.

One of her producers, Sam Pounds, announced on social media on Tuesday that Payne’s new single, “Do No Wrong,” would not be released on Thursday as previously announced.

“Today I decide to celebrate ‘Do No Wrong’ and leave those freedoms to all family members. “I want all profits to go to a charity of your choice (or however you want),” Pounds wrote on social media. “Although we all love the song, it’s not time yet. We are all still mourning Liam’s passing and I want the family to rest in peace and prayers. We will all wait. Love, Sam Pounds.”

Buenos Aires prosecutors are advancing their investigation into the singer’s death, a source with knowledge of the case told CNN on Friday.

Investigators have interviewed two female companions who were with Payne in the hours before his death, the source said. The women, both 25 years old, testified that they did not see Payne use drugs in front of them, but he did consume alcohol, the individual added.

Late last month, prosecutors said they were not yet ready to return Payne’s body to his family, pending additional toxicology reports.

His body was moved on Friday from a morgue in Buenos Aires to a facility where it will be preserved, a source with knowledge of the case told CNN. Payne’s body will remain at the facility until paperwork is finalized to allow Payne’s family to receive his body in the United Kingdom.

Fans have been left heartbroken. In 2022, Payne shared at VeeCon who wanted to be remembered as “a good guy.”

“For me now, it’s about giving everyone the time they deserve with you, if that’s what they’re excited about,” he said at the time. “It doesn’t matter what they say or what they do. You just have to put your time and effort into those people, because that comes back. So, yeah, I’d rather be known for being nice than anything else.”

payne announced in May 2023 that he was working on a new album and planning a tour.
