When it comes to designer bags, Hermès Birkin bags are considered the crème de la crème. Owning a Birkin can be the ultimate symbol of wealth and, realistically, a small group of people can enjoy the luxury of carrying the coveted bag. It’s easy to assume that anything Hermès does is out of its reach. It sure did, until I discovered its new scent, Barenia. With Hermès’ reputation, I assume their perfumes cost quite a bit of money, but when I saw the price tag on this wonderful fragrance, my jaw almost hit the floor: the bag of Birkin fragrances costs less than $200!

2024 has been a big year for beauty launches. Somehow the new releases get better and better every month, and October has had some of my favorites. Whether you’re looking for an all-in-one hair tool, a repairing lip mask, or even a powerful wrinkle fighter, you’ve come to the right place. Keep reading to discover (…)

Barenia is the epitome of elegance — from the simplistic bottle to the refined fragrance inside. I have an extensive collection of perfumes (over 200 bottles), but I can confidently say that I have never smelled anything like it. This sensual and captivating fragrance beautifully balances three earthy facets: floral, fruity and woody. Generally, I find that when perfumes are divided into multiple categories of notes, the end result is a bit clunky and confusing, although that is not the case with Barenia.

This designer fragrance features four notes.: At the top we have the floral whisper of butterfly lily, which has a ginger-like aroma that offers a touch of spice. This unique flower is intertwined with a miracle berry, a robust red berry, to produce a juicy, delicious shine. Finally, as the scent dries down, a combination of warm patchouli and oak wood give it a shimmering warmth that is earthy, musky and rooted.

In general, I’m not a fan of designer perfumes. I find that most of them smell too pedestrian and have poor longevity. Barenia is the rare diamond, or should I say Birkin Bag, among its peers. I catch whiffs of this perfume hours after spraying it. I also haven’t come across a single person in my circle who regularly wears the perfume, which makes it feel that much more exclusive.

Buyers who have fallen in love with it have discovered a signature for life. “This is a beautiful, long-lasting fragrance that will leave you feeling satisfied wherever you go,” writes one reviewer. “The undertones of patchouli are so warm and wonderful. This makes me feel fun and timeless.”

Even those who aren’t necessarily perfume fans will fall in love with this one. “I’m not a perfume person, but this one has me hooked,” writes another Nordstrom shopper. “For me it’s worth every penny. The smell and this perfume is exceptional. Its fragrance lasts all day and still smells fresh and not overpowering.”

If you’ve ever dreamed of owning a Birkin, why not start with Hermès Barenia Eau de Parfum? After all, it’s just as luxurious for a fraction of the cost. At under $200, the luxury fragrance is the perfect price to treat yourself or a loved one before the holidays.

Just like skincare and makeup, paying a lot of money for a perfume doesn’t necessarily mean you’re getting a higher quality product. As a beauty writer with over 200 perfumes in my collection, some of my most praised and longest-lasting scents are under $100. My ultimate goal is to grow my collection of affordable yet high quality fragrances, (…)
