Ontario County early voting continues to see high turnout ahead of general

As Election Day approaches, Ontario County continues to see high turnout in early voting and mail-in ballot returns, according to data from the Ontario County Board of Elections.

As of 8 pm on November 1, a total of 14,113 residents had cast their ballots at the county’s three early voting sites in Canandaigua, Geneva and Victor. Daily turnout ranged from 1,778 to 2,502 voters, with the highest turnout on October 26, the first day of early voting.

Mail-in voting has also attracted strong participation, with 4,376 votes returned out of 5,863 cast to voters. Of them, 1,851 were presented by members of the Democratic Party and Working Families, 1,411 by Republican and conservative members, and 1,114 by unaffiliated voters or minor parties. Additionally, 167 ballots were returned from overseas military and federal voters.

Ontario County has 78,655 active registered voters and 7,362 inactive voters eligible to participate. Voters who cannot participate in early voting still have the opportunity to vote on Election Day at any of the 44 polling locations in the county’s 92 precincts.

All data remains unofficial and is subject to final updates from the Board of Elections.
