Bail set at $2 million for man accused of opening fire after argument over trash

A judge set bail at $2 million for a man accused of shooting Dozens of shots fired on the west side of Colón.

Ira Roberts, 45, faces two counts of felonious assault. Police say they recovered “multiple firearms” from his apartment in the 3400 block of Camp Chase Drive after an argument over throwing large amounts of trash into an apartment complex dumpster.

He then allegedly shot a woman and her father as they tried to flee. Detectives recovered at least 25 bullet casings at the scene. Video captured parts of the incident.

A Franklin County Municipal Court judge set bail at $2 million at his arraignment Friday morning. He is scheduled to appear Nov. 8 for a preliminary hearing.
