Danville man sentenced to seven years for attempting to deliver cocaine

On October 30, Richard Tyler, 47, formerly of Danville, Illinois, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and was sentenced to seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, followed by one year of supervised release. mandatory.

On June 28, 2019, an agent with the Vermilion County Metropolitan Enforcement Group executed a search warrant at the residence of Richard Tyler in Danville, Illinois.

Inside the kitchen of the residence, agents located a container filled with 25 individual packages of a substance that tested positive for crack in the field.

The total weight of the packages was 4.8 grams. Tests conducted by scientists at the Illinois State Police Forensic Science Laboratory showed the substance tested positive for cocaine.

Likewise, inside the residence, agents located packaging materials and a piece of paper with a list of names and amounts of money, along with a cell phone and US currency.
