SHELBY COUNTY, Alabama (WBRC) – A Shelby County man has been charged with possession of child pornography.

Court documents show Zahir Shakir Merchant is charged with eight counts of child pornography with intent to distribute.

The victim in each of the videos is under 17 years old and is described as “prepubescent,” according to court documents.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is investigating this case. More charges are possible.
