The San Francisco Giants are reportedly promoting a relative from Los Angeles general manager Perry Minasian, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today and Jon Heyman of the New York Post on Thursday.

Nightengale added that Minasian will make MLB history alongside his brother, Los Angeles Angels general manager Perry Minasian, as the first brothers to simultaneously serve as general managers of different MLB teams.

The Giants job became available after a front-office shakeup that included the departure of Farhan Zaidi. The former president of baseball operations was replaced by San Francisco catcher Buster Posey.
