Salt Lake City SWAT team responds to same suspect from early October incident

The Salt Lake City SWAT team responded to a situation with the same suspect as in an incident in early October.

Police said the 40-year-old suspect, who was not identified Thursday, was not supposed to be at the apartment complex at 1925 West and North Temple on Thursday night.

The man held a woman against her will in an apartment before she eventually emerged safely, said Brent Weisberg of Salt Lake police.

Weisberg said police suspect the man has access to weapons inside the apartment.

Police asked SWAT to the scene as a precaution.

KUTV has reported on two other incidents of domestic confrontations at the same address, both also in 2024.

The suspect in the March incident is not the same as the suspect in this and the previous incidents in October.

Weisberg said that on Thursday, shortly after 9 p.m., police were trying to make contact with the man.

Police are not aware of any injuries at this time.
