Man sentenced to prison for drug possession with intent to deliver in Marinette

MARINETTE, Wis. (WLUC) – A 27-year-old man has been sentenced to eight years in prison and five years of extended supervision for possession of narcotics with intent to deliver.

Brady Peeters was sentenced after pleading guilty to one count of possession with intent to deliver drugs as a second and subsequent offender stemming from a traffic stop on March 19, 2021.

According to the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, during the traffic stop, deputies located 67.3 grams of fentanyl, 167.3 grams of heroin and 25.7 grams of cocaine. During the pendency of the criminal case, Peeters failed to appear in court and was on the run for one year and seven months, resulting in the forfeiture of $50,000 cash bail.

Judge James Morrison emphasized the need to protect the community and the lethality of fentanyl during sentencing.

Deputy District Attorney Kathyrn Heineck prosecuted the case.
