See: Soto grounded out in possible last at-bat as a Yankee

The New York Yankees fell short in their effort back to the World Series, falling 7-6 to the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 5.

“The Bronx Bombers” held a 5-0 lead at one point before multiple defensive errors in the fifth inning led to a tie and eventually an outright lead later in the game.

One of those first runs was scored by star outfielder Juan Soto, who the club negotiated in 2023 of the San Diego Padres.

Soto, who signed a one-year contract $31 million extension for the 2024 season, he will become a free agent this offseason, so his last at-bat as a Yankee was likely a groundout in the bottom of the eighth inning.
