2 cars, including Geauga County sheriff’s cruiser, crash into business

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – On Tuesday night, the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office was called to a scene where two vehicles crashed into a local business.

The local family store, Farley’s Country Store, was severely damaged in the accident. A sheriff’s deputy, identified in the Geauga County sheriff’s report as 29 years old, was the man who caused the crash.

The owners declined to speak to 19 News on camera, but shared that the business had been in the family since the 1920s.

Before the accident, the couple lived upstairs in the store. Because the damage to the store had been so extensive, the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office called the American Red Cross shortly after the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office made the incident report.

“You feel bad for people because their property was damaged,” Hildenbrand said. “Not just the business but also the person our deputy hit.”

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is still investigating the incident.
