St. Louis man arrested after high-speed chase ends in Miller County

A St. Louis man was arrested Wednesday and charged with two counts of aggravated fleeing from a stop following a high-speed chase involving the Miller County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a news release from the Miller County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the area of U.S. Highway 54 outside of Eldon to assist the Missouri State Highway Patrol after the Deputies reported that a blue 2014 Porsche Boxster was traveling more than 180 miles per hour before reaching Highway 52 heading toward Tuscumbia.

The driver, Brennan Christopher England, 37, failed to yield when officers attempted to stop the vehicle and instead accelerated rapidly.

A deputy located near the Miller County Justice Complex deployed a spike strip in an effort to stop the chase, particularly as the vehicle approached the Miller County R-III School, which was preparing to release the students.

England attempted to avoid the spike strip, but lost control of his vehicle and ultimately crashed into a ditch near Route HHH.

Following the accident, he was taken to a local hospital for evaluation before being taken into custody.

He is being held at the Miller County Adult Detention Center.
