MATBUS in trouble put out of service after VNL investigation

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – It’s been two weeks since MATBUS employees came to Valley News Live expressing safety concerns, with Two drivers claimed they became ill from the bus fumes. and they were out of work for months. Since then, employees tell us that the troubled bus is planned to be removed.

“The bus is on hold right now. So, they are taking it seriously, but it took your news for them to do it,” said a MATBUS employee.

In the story above, the two drivers explained how they were hospitalized due to harmful chemicals or fumes coming from their bus. They allege that MATBUS management also does not take their health concerns seriously.

“It has been silent for two months. “Our boss hasn’t even checked on us even once,” the two said.

They were out of work for months, but previously told us they hope to return soon.

Since his history of october 14another MATBUS employee said the bus that is causing them pain will be removed from service.

“Maybe they were starting to recover, but it was too slow. Once their story came out, they put it into action and something was done right away. “It obviously wasn’t ideal to have to do anything and it obviously wasn’t conducive to a safe work environment for anyone,” the employee explained.

After the bus recall, employees say they are still concerned about other current safety practices at MATBUS.

One claimed incidents go unreported, communication is poor and staff complaints are rarely addressed.

They said: “It seems like it really takes a lot to get something to change, especially when it comes to security.”

Valley News Live first contacted MATBUS, who provided a statement regarding the odor issue, stating: “We have been aware of complaints of bad odors from drivers employed by Transdev and the matter is being investigated..”

We reached out again today, October 29, to address the new concerns, but have not yet received a response.
