Jarvis Scruggs faces numerous drug charges

DECATUR, Alabama (WAF) – A Morgan County man was arrested Monday night following a weeks-long drug trafficking investigation.

The Decatur Police Department’s Narcotics Unit opened the investigation after receiving complaints about the distribution of illegal narcotics in southwest Decatur.

The suspect was identified as Jarvis Scruggs and probable cause was obtained for a search warrant for his home.

On Monday night, investigators executed the search warrant at his home on Wimberly Dr. SW and contacted Scruggs.

During the search, Scruggs was found to have a quantity of methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana. A firearm and a sum of money were also found and seized.

Scruggs was arrested and charged with trafficking in illegal drugs, first-degree possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

He has since been released from the Morgan County Jail on $25,300 bond.
