Dobson Announces Coalition of 345 Women Leaders and Activists to Boost Congressional Campaign

Alabama Republican congressional candidate Caroleene Dobson’s campaign will reach out to hundreds of women leaders and activists during the final days of the campaign to get voters to the polls.

Dobson’s campaign, in a Tuesday news release, announced a new “Women for Dobson” coalition made up of 345 women who are leaders, community activists and others. The women will be “committed to driving voters to the polls in the final week of the campaign,” according to the press release.

Dobson, in a statement, said she was honored to have the support of the women who will help her campaign during the final week before the Nov. 5 election. Dobson faces Democratic opponent Shomari Figures in what is considered the most competitive race in Alabama’s November election.

“By working together, we can fix the broken system in DC, prioritize these issues that really matter to the residents of the Second Congressional District, and bring about better days for all Americans,” Dobson said in a statement.

Coalition formation occursAbortion and reproductive rights have drawn attention during the campaign. season. Dobson is in favor of allowing states to decide on the right to abortion and establishing exemptions for cases of rape, incest and the life of the mother. He has also said he supports in vitro fertilization, adding that the IVF process “enables the miracle of life for those who never thought they would ever be able to have children or start a family.”

Among Dobson’s supporters within the new coalition is Montgomery County Commissioner Ronda Walker, who said she anticipates Dobson, if elected, will “bring practical, common-sense solutions” for Alabama families.

“As women, mothers and community members, we understand what is at stake in this election,” Montgomery County Commission member Ronda Walker said in a statement. “She listens to women’s concerns and knows how important it is to have someone in Washington who will stand up for families, our faith and our future.”

Shallie Garrison, former director of the Eufaula Chamber of Commerce and community volunteer, said Dobson’s intelligence and commitment to finding viable solutions to problems plaguing America attracted her to join the coalition.

“She clearly understands the needs of our district and has the intelligence, energy and dedication to make a difference,” Garrison said in a statement.
