Seven minors arrested for stabbing a man | mumbai news

Seven minors, between 14 and 15 years old, were arrested for attacking an e-commerce delivery driver and his brother over a small dispute; one stabbed the delivery man.

MUMBAI: Seven minor boys, aged between 14 and 15, have been detained by police for allegedly attacking an e-commerce delivery boy and his brother, a rickshaw driver, who came to his aid, during a petty dispute on Saturday . . One of the minors was previously charged with two cases of voluntarily causing serious injury. All the accused minors have been sent to the Dongri Correctional Home.

According to Bhandup police, the incident took place on Saturday when Abdul Haji Sahad, a delivery boy, was beaten up by children in front of Pramod Mahajan Garden on Nityanjali Road in Bhandup. Abdul Haji called his brother, Abdul Razzak Shaikh, a rickshaw driver, to inform him that he was being attacked by a group of youths. When he arrived, the boys told him that Abdul Haji had been attacked because he pushed one of the boys first. When Abdul Razzak suggested that it might have been accidental, the boys began attacking him as well.

“One of the minors, who is only 15 years old, took out a knife and stabbed Abdul Haji,” said the police officer from Bhandup police station. The minor who stabbed remains in Bhandup and has a history of crimes including causing serious injuries, the officer added.

Abdul Haji was rushed to the nearby Mulund General Hospital, but doctors advised him to be admitted to Sion hospital, where he is currently being treated for stab wounds to the chest.

A case has been registered against the minors under articles 109 (1) (attempt to murder), 118 (1) (voluntarily causing harm with dangerous weapons), 189 (1) (unlawful assembly) and 190 (joint liability) under the Bhartiya Act. Nyaya Sanhita. “We detained the seven minors and sent them to Dongri Correctional Centre, one of them has a history of previous crimes and all of them are between 14 and 15 years old,” said the police officer.
