PUMA collaborates with Artist For The Limited Edition Future x Orlinski

Many people would argue that football can be its own art form – think of that as a perfectly weighted ball, a curved shot that weaves its way into the net, or a beautifully timed tackle to deny an almost certain goal. But in a more literal sense, the crossover between the worlds of art and football only goes one way, with artists often expressing their passion for the beautiful game through their creativity. Now, however, things are heading in the opposite direction thanks to a new limited-edition collaboration between PUMA and French sculptor and neo-pop artist Richard Orlinksi.

Orlinksi is known for fusing elements of pop culture and animal forms in his sculptures and his work is known worldwide for its instant recognisability. And the special edition PUMA Future x Orlinski features a design that combines all the key performance elements of the Future 7 with Orlinski’s exciting artwork. The black base is the perfect canvas for Orlinski’s neon party, and his iconic sculptural style wraps around the entire upper with bright accents across the PUMA power tape technology, while his signature is also present on the front of the shoe. The PUMA cat logo on the heel also lends itself perfectly to Orlinski’s work, with the iconic animal given a pop-art makeover that features Orlinksi’s name.

While the Ultra’s speed lent itself perfectly to the Mexican Formula 1 homage design that recently came out, the Future’s craftsmanship and control see it as the right choice for a more artistic angle, as shown here.
