Woman shot in the head in West Side home, police say

CHICAGO – A 41-year-old woman was hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by gunfire at a West Side home Monday evening.

According to Chicago police, the shooting happened in the 300 block of South Christiana Street around 8:25 p.m. The victim was inside a home when a bullet pierced the outside wall and struck her in the head.

The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where she was in serious condition.

There are currently no suspects in custody. Area Four detectives are investigating the shooting.
