Crash involving multiple semi-trailers, cars shut down part of I-35

PFLUGERVILLE (KXAN) — A portion of I-35 is closed Tuesday morning due to a multi-vehicle crash. According to the Department of Public Safety, it responded to the crash on I-35 southbound at Grand Avenue Parkway around 12:15 p.m.

The roadway is expected to remain closed until approximately midnight.

DPS says the vehicles involved are five semi-trailers and two passenger cars. Traffic is currently being diverted to McNeil Road in Round Rock.

DPS confirmed with KXAN that people were injured but had no further details.

It is unclear what caused the crash.
