Ravens fan who attacked Commanders fans in viral video is turning himself in, Baltimore police say

The man who Baltimore police say attacked two Commanders fans on camera in a viral video last week turned himself in Monday morning, police and his attorney said.

John Callis, 24, surrendered to the Baltimore Police Department’s Southern District office under an agreement negotiated with authorities, said his attorney Brian Thompson.

His case was not immediately available in online court records Monday. Baltimore police, who said last week they had obtained an arrest warrant for Callis on assault charges, confirmed Callis was in custody Monday but provided no further details. Thompson said shortly after 1 p.m. that his client had not yet seen a court commissioner.

Video of the Oct. 13 encounter, which followed a Ravens-Commanders game at M&T Bank Stadium, shows a man — identified by police as Callis — wearing a Ravens jersey and a man wearing a Commanders sweater in the face before throwing another man into it. a Commander jersey against a brick wall in Federal Hill. According to police, both victims are 23-year-old men.
