The actor, who also appeared on Task Master, told the publication that the only reason he wrote another season was for the fans.

He said viewers were eager to know the next part of the story and get some closure after Mobeen was attacked in prison.

He said: ‘I can’t even shop at Aldi without someone popping out from behind the bread aisle and asking me when the next Man Like Mobeen is coming.’

“So, for you, and you alone, here is the last, very last, never to be repeated season of Man Like Mobeen.

“Please don’t make me earn more, I have a lot of kids to raise and all.”

The series has become a huge hit among BBC viewers, as the show scored 87 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Filming for the final season has already started in Coventry and Turkey.

In the six new episodes, due to air on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer in 2025, the series promises a finale that will quench the thirst of what follows Mobeen’s attack.

In the fifth season, Mobeen is released from prison and reunited with the gang.

The cast also returning includes Salman Akhtar (Lootin’) as Saj, Duaa Karim (DI Ray) as Mobeen’s younger sister Aqsa, Mark Silcox (Mandy) as the real OG Uncle Shady, Korkmaz Arslan (My Sweet Pepper Land) as the Turkish hairdresser Emre, and Hussina Raja (Informer) as Mobeen’s crush Nida.

The series is written and co-created by Guz and Andy, who were jointly named Best Writer at the RTS Midlands Awards three years in a row.

Man Like Mobeen previously won Best Comedy at the 2020 Broadcast Digital Awards and was nominated for Best Comedy at the 2021 BAFTAs.

Series 4 attracted an average audience of 1.1 million people and was the best-performing BBC Three comedy of 2023.
