Prison worker sentenced to prison after having sex with teen in apartment

A prison worker has been sentenced to prison after having sex with a teenager in his Wildwood apartment.

Jason Lee Wildman, 28, was sentenced in Sumter County Court earlier this month to 11 months and 29 days in prison after pleading no contest to a sexual assault charge. He was given credit for having already spent a day behind bars. He will also be on probation for ten years.

A 17-year-old girl reported in 2023 that Wildman began communicating with her via Snapchat and that she “eventually went to his apartment before his wife lived with him,” according to a Wildwood police arrest report. The girl said they had intercourse once and that Wildman wore a condom during the encounter at the Wildwood Preserve Apartments on Powell Road.

Wildman, who identified himself to police as a Department of Corrections employee, said the teen “had been to his apartment” and said she was “hanging out with his wife.” He initially denied having sex with the teen, but eventually admitted that he and the teen had sex at his apartment, the report said. He added that he had worn a condom.
